1. Original mylars were scanned as tiff images
2. Tiff images were geo-referenced to 1:250000 digital base in 10TM NAD83 for to create geo-tiff. RMS errors were +/- 50m.
3. Geo-tiff images were vectorized and smoothed using the 'Gridline' command in Arc/Info with parameters 'Thin','Filter','Round','0.005 as Dangle' and '0.001 as Weed'. Line datasets were created.
4. Line datasets were combined to create complete polygon boundaries. Remaining linework and lines that were both polygon boundaries and linear surficial features such as channels were extracted to separate line coverage.
5. Linear features that were directionally significant such eskers were digitized in the direction indicated on the original map.
6. Feature descriptions were entered as attributes
7. Final plot was generated at the scale of 1:500k to check against the original map.
8. Line coverage was exported to shapefile.
