Abstract

This digital dataset contains geochemical analyses results for 6 water samples collected from producing oil wells in Alberta in 2021 as part of the Alberta Geological Survey Lithium Prospectivity Project. The geological units these wells were producing from include the Banff Formation, Swan Hills Formation, and Gilwood Member. The wells were selected based on proximity to Edmonton, recent production without treatment events, high water cut, and production from units that may be of interest for lithium exploration.

The samples were analyzed for total dissolved solids, total organic carbon, major, minor, and trace elements, as well as for oxygen, hydrogen, and strontium isotopes.
