Use this form to provide information about an earthquake or earthquake-like event you felt in Alberta. To proceed, please read the following and check the box below, acknowledging that you understand what type of information we are collecting and what we are using it for.
Your information about an earthquake you felt is highly appreciated and helps the Alberta Geological Survey’s seismologists determine the intensity of the earthquake in your area. We collect information about the location and intensity of the movement you felt and do not collect any personal information such as name, address, or phone number. However, in some cases, you may have felt the event in your home. We only ask that you provide the nearest intersection to where you felt the ground shaking. We do not keep specific addresses or connect location information with residents.
The location information you provide using the Report an Earthquake You Felt form is collected under the authority of the Resources and Technical Surveys Act. This information is used by the Alberta Geological Survey to conduct research into earthquakes in Alberta.
