Abstract

The bedrock topography of Alberta is the surface of the top of Upper Cretaceous and Paleogene bedrock, and reveals geomorphic features created by Paleogene to recent river systems and Quaternary glaciation.

This dataset comprises a compilation of bedrock top depth and elevation observations across Alberta. These data include previously published information from Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) maps, reports and regional digital datasets, as well as previously unpublished data held in AGS holdings that were used for the creation of other AGS digital data products, maps and reports. These data were also used directly to produce AGS Digital Data 2023-0014, Thickness of Sediments Above Bedrock and Three-Dimensional Distribution of Coarse-Grained Deposits in Alberta.
