Abstract

This publication deals with the soils of the Cherry Point and Hines Creek area.

We began the Cherry Point and Hines Creek area soil survey in the summer of 1957 to obtain essential information about the soils of this area: their kind, distribution, and chemical and physical characteristics.

The report describes the cultural and physical features of the area, and the chemical, physical and morphological characteristics of the soil series. The appendices provide information on the methods used in the analyses, definitions of terms describing significant features of the mapped area and of the field classification.
