Abstract

This grids represent the distribution of total dissolved solids (TDS) in the Cardium hydrostratigraphic unit (HSU).

It is a result of a geostatistical model which was constructed using publicly available data from the following sources:

  1. Formation water chemistry from drillstem test and production fluids from oil and gas wells
  2. Formation water chemistry water analyses from water source wells, submitted as part of water license applications

The TDS surface was mapped at a regional scale using many years of data, thus providing a good indication of regional water chemistry within the unit rather than site-specific values.
