This digital dataset contains new geological data and information generated by the Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) on the Canadian Shield in northeastern Alberta. AGS crews conducted fieldwork in the Leland Lakes and Andrew Lake area for a total of four weeks in the summer of 2023, recording geological observations and measurements for 394 field stations. This included descriptions of lithology, mineralogy, and texture, along with magnetic susceptibility, gamma-ray spectrometer, and structural orientation measurements, and the collection of rock samples for additional analysis. Of the 544 samples collected, 523 were prepared and submitted for whole-rock lithogeochemical analysis to support the evaluation of critical mineral potential in the area.
This work was completed under the Mineral Grant provided by the Government of Alberta June 22, 2021.
