Abstract

This digital data release includes the results of clay mineral X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis in selected samples from Alberta stratigraphic units evaluated for their shale- and siltstone-hosted hydrocarbon resource potential. The strata evaluated include the following units:
- Basal Banff Formation,
- Blackstone Formation,
- Exshaw Formation,
- Colorado Group,
- Duvernay Formation, and
- Muskwa Formation.
Data for other stratigraphic units are also included in this file: belle fourche formation, blackstone formation, fernie formation, first white specks member, fish scales formation, grand rapids formation, kootenay group, lea park formation, pelican formation, second white specks formation, westgate formation.
