Abstract

This dataset is part of the regional hydrogeological characterization of the Upper Cretaceous–Quaternary units in the Fox Creek area of west-central Alberta. It represents regional hydraulic pathways to identify locations where permeable Paleogene–Quaternary sediments and permeable bedrock coincide, providing a potential for enhanced vertical groundwater movement. Regional hydraulic pathways were defined from a combination of the lateral extent and thickness of Paleogene–Quaternary stratigraphic units and bedrock sandstone abundance and do not consider specific hydrogeological conditions, such as the potentiometric surface and vertical hydraulic head gradient.
