Abstract

This dataset contains a polygon layer depicting the physiographic divisions of the bedrock surface across Alberta. The physiographic divisions were derived using a topographically based classification of the bedrock surface considering elevation, ruggedness, relief and land position. The nine physiographic terrains, from highest to lowest, are highlands, plateaus, uplands, transitional slopes, benches, high plains, plains, lowlands, and bedrock valleys.
