Abstract

This information sheet highlights the brine-hosted and rock-hosted lithium potential of Alberta and provides currently know resource estimates from industry. Based on a province-wide lithium brine resource assessment, the Alberta Geological Survey estimates Alberta has 82.5 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) in-place within Devonian brines often associated with oilfields. This positions Alberta to become a major global supplier as global demand for lithium, a critical mineral, accelerates.
