Mineral Resource Compilation Mapping - Whaleback Study Area Part of NTS Map Sheet 82G/16 and 82J/1

In response to an application for an exploratory well by Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Limited to the ERCB (Energy Resource Conservation Board, presently known as Alberta Energy and Utilities Board) of the Whaleback Ridge Area, Alberta Geological Survey, with request by the Department of Energy, compiled a series of data relating to oil and gas and mineral exploration activities, landuse classifications and geological setting of the area. These data were converted into GIS datasets for spatial analysis. A compilation map was produced to include a 1:50 000 landuse classification and oil and gas activities map; and a series of 1:250 000 inset maps showing mineral exploration activities and geological setting.
