Abstract

This data release contains water chemistry and hydraulic head data (separate tables) used to create total dissolved solids (TDS) and hydraulic head maps for bedrock aquifers in an area of west-central Alberta, centred on the Town of Fox Creek. The main sources of data are

1. Formation water chemistry data from drillstem tests (DSTs) and production tests from oil and gas wells.
2. Pressure data from drillstem tests (DSTs) from oil and gas wells.

Data have been processed, relevant records selected, and outliers removed to compile this dataset.

In addition, this data release also includes some water well data from the Alberta Water Well Information Database (AWWID), which were used for provincial-scale hydrogeological mapping of the Wapiti / Belly River hydrostratigraphic unit (HSU). Details about these data can be found in AGS Digital Data 2017-0026 and 2018-0005.
